Working together

The simple act of buying a bag of coffee to enjoy at home gives us a real opportunity to improve the lives of coffee farmers in developing countries like Honduras. Every time you do, you’ll be helping a small coffee farmer, his family and his community.

Here you can find information about the farms we are currently working with:

Finca Caballero

Finca Caballero was born thanks to our grandfather and uncle Jesus, they mainly grew corn and beans in their early days as farmers in the area of “La montañita” , eventually the opportunity to buy a lot which already had several blocks of coffee, the farm is located at an altitude between 1,200 and 1,400 meters above sea level located in the sector of Rosario Santa Rosa de Copan, it was acquired and that is the beginning of Finca Caballero in the world of coffee.

In the first seasons, the coffee was sold wet, with time they started to give it a better process and they tried to dry it on pátios (Uncovered space outside in this case for drying coffee), due to the low price that the market or exporters normally pay.

By 2017, it was decided to submit it to a cupping process and the results, despite the little knowledge of processing in the area, the result was favorable, resulting in a coffee with chocolate and sweet flavors.

We have 4 people who work permanently on the farm, and as it is a family farm we are also involved in the work required for its maintenance. During the harvest, we receive around 15 workers from the area who accompany us in the process for 4 months.

The work in season is 100% grain collection, pulping, washing, and then the drying process in the patios, each harvest we seek to improve in each process and adapt to the new changes that the world of coffee offers.
